  3. Hello samay, there is no hl-1430 driver for win 7, just dlod the diver for vista (32 or 64bit) and you good to go….

  5. I am trying to install the Vista 64-bit drivers for a HL-1230 printer on Win 8. The installation fails because the printer driver is not signed and 64-bit Win 8 does not permit unsigned drivers to be installed, with no overrides. Are there signed drivers available for this series of printers?

  6. Followup to my enquiry about Win 8 support — the “Brother Laser Type1 Class” printer driver supplied by MicroSoft with Win 8 x64 works with the HL-1230 after manual installation.

    Add a printer, “The printer I want isn’t listed”, “Add a local printer…manual settings”, Use existing port (LPT1:), select “Brother” in list, “Brother Laser Type1 Class Driver” in right-hand column and click Next.
